Lymphedema is a condition of chronic swelling that can occur in the arms, legs, trunk, or face. Lymphedema can occur due to cancer treatments, poor circulation, injury, or genetic predisposition. Our therapists use manual lymphatic drainage, compression, skin care, and exercise to treat your your swelling. Manual lymphatic drainage is a specialized massage provided to improve conduction of the lymphatic system. Compression is then applied to continue to reduce the swelling after massage. You will work closely with your therapist and physician to manage your swelling in order to achieve long term results.
